Thursday, May 11th, 2017 Meeting

We've had a great first half of the year of learning Japanese and practicing it with one another. I always recommend to go home and get some input Japanese since our meetings focus on the output. Well, in case you're not getting enough input we will be watching a Japanese game show. Hopefully you'll pick up some helpful phrases while watching.

This is also acting as a reward for those of you who have been working hard with your Japanese studies. We'll be taking a summer break and starting back up in August.

About Nihongo Renshuu

Nihongo Renshuu, or Japanese practice, is a casual learning experience for people wanting to learn Japanese. It’s easy to grab material to study but not so easy when it comes to practicing what you’ve studied. This program is for all Japanese learning levels, from beginner to expert. The reason for the large gap is how this program is formatted. Nihongo Renshuu will help your Japanese by putting it into use in ways such as talking with others and playing games. The most important part about learning a language is having enough interaction with it. This is not a formal Japanese class, but will have class-like aspects to the meetings such as a teaching segment. This program is meant to help with your Japanese studies.

Location Details

The location will be in the Student Lounge (room 133) of the International Center, located on the Lakefront Campus of the University of New Orleans (UNO). For an interactive map, go to http://www.uno.edu/about/campus-maps/lakefront-campus.aspx. Click on “International Center” on the left menu to see the location of the building. For a PDF map of campus, go to http://www.uno.edu/about/documents/lakefront-campus-2014.pdf and look for building #18. Park in the lot on the west side of the building, and enter the glass door on the west side of the building (near the big air conditioning equipment). Because this event takes place after hours, the main (front) entry will be locked. For assistance, contact Jennifer Torres at jgaudet09@yahoo.com.
