Nihongo Bin: Onsen and Sento

  • Mon, August 20, 2018
  • 19:00 - 20:00
  • Old Metairie Branch Library

Nihongo Bin is a program where we explore different aspects of the Japanese culture and lifestyle.

For the month of August we will be discussing onsen and sento. The Japanese have a very unique bathing culture. Bathing is not only a necessity but a leisurely occurrence that bring opportunity to relax and enjoy the company of others. As the country begins to modernize, their old custom of bathing is still alive today. We'll learn about these facilities that birthed the Japanese bathing culture.

This program is free to attend and open to the public, so bring a friend! The presentation will be led by Jennifer Torres, Japan Society of New Orleans board member and blogger for Japan Therapy.
