JSNO Japanese Cinema Series Screening: "Yojimbo”

In Partnership with The Shop, Japan Society of New Orleans' Japanese Cinema Series presents a free screening of the Akira Kurosawa classic... Yojimbo!

• Date: Thursday, March 26th 
• Time: Doors open @ 6:30pm, Screening starts @ 7pm
• Place: The Shop at the CAC (3rd Floor), 900 Camp Street, New Orleans, LA 70130
• Cost: FREE! Open to the public!

Movie Summary: 

A ronin (masterless samurai) arrives in a small town where competing crime lords fight for supremacy.  The two bosses each try to hire the newcomer as a bodyguard.

This 1961 film is widely regarded as one of the best films by Kurosawa.  To the point where its story was plagiarized in the 1964 film A Fistful of Dollars.

Join us as we watch the stranger enter the town and play the two sides against one another to aid the village.
